Director - Independent Marketing and Education

Christine joined the SUPERVALU team in 2005. Along with being an instructor with emphasis in merchandising, marketing, retail design and consumerism, Christine is responsible for setting the strategic direction for the Marketing and Education services to SUPERVALU's independent retail partners.

Professional Experience

Over the past 30 years, Christine has held a number of positions in the retail industry. After beginning her career with Red Owl Food Stores, she moved into store planning as a Designer, Developer and Project Manager for commercial real estate developers operating in the Twin Cities area. Projects included Cub Foods, Coburns, Lunds and more.

Christine held the position of Design and Construction Project Manager for national retailers at the Mall of America before moving to Holiday Companies where she was responsible for design, construction and store planning for a variety of retail formats. She was then assigned the role of Vice President of Merchandising, Marketing and Wholesaling for Holiday Station stores, a regional convenience store organization.

From 2000 to 2005, Christine held the position of Senior Director of Business Development and Marketing for SUPERVALU's Store Brands program as a member of the Daymon Worldwide team.

Education

Christine holds a Bachelor of Science degree in design, marketing, architectural history and business management from the University of Minnesota. She also holds a Master of Arts in strategic planning, housing and urban development from the University of Minnesota - Humphrey Institute.
